Is Robredo running for president in 2022? Here's her answer

President Rodrigo Duterte has threatened Vice President Leni Robredo that he will be her “nightmare” if she runs for president two years from now.

Is the 2022 elections already in the mind of the vice president?

Robredo, however, remained noncomittal when asked if she intends to throw her hat in the ring for the 2022 presidential elections.

In an interview with CNN Philippines, Robredo said it is still too early to think about the 2022 elections.

"2020 pa lang ngayon, ang presidential elections is far away, dalawang taon pa. History would tell us na ang daming puwedeng mangyari sa isang taon, hindi natin alam kung kakandidato pa ako" Robredo said.

The vice-president, however, hinted at a possible last-minute decision, similar to what she did when she decided to run for vice president in 2016 and previously also for congress.

In the interview, CNN's Pia Hontiveros also reminded Robredo of what she said before - that the last man standing will be a woman

"Nung kumandidato ako for VP, last minute. Nung kumandidato ako for congress, the same. Pero yung sa akin, ibi-bring up ba natin yung eleksyon at a time of calamity, of sobrang calamity such as this, tatlong magkakasunod, mayroon pa tayong covid, tapos ang iniisip is eleksyon. This is a time to unite," Robredo said.
