UP ranks first among 25 PH schools in 2025 QS Asia University rankings
The University of the Philippines was recognized as the country's top-performing school in the Philippines in the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) Asia University Rankings 2025.
According to their latest assessment, the higher education analyst ranked UP at the 86th spot out of 984 other higher education institutions in Asia.
The school received a rating of 60.6 out of 100. It had the highest points in Employer Reputation (94.4), which comprises 10% of the overall rating. It also had a high rating in the rest of the criteria, which includes International Research Network (87.1), Academic Reputation (83), and Faculty Student Ratio (47.9).
UP's new placement, however, is a decline from its previous spot last year, which is 78th out of 855 universities in Asia.
On its heels are the other "Big Four" universities in the Philippines, which also fell from their previous rankings. These are Ateneo de Manila University (from 137th to 142nd), De La Salle University (from 154th to 163rd), and the University of Santo Tomas (from 179th to 181st).

- Saint Louis University (751-800)
- Lyceum of the Philippines University (801-850)
- Mindanao State University (801-850)
- Xavier University (801-850)
- Cebu Technological University (851-900)
- Central Luzon State University (851-900)
- Central Mindanao University (851-900)
- Central Philippine University (851-900)
- Angeles University Foundation (901+)
- University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (901+)
- University of Southeastern Philippines (901+)
- University of Southern Mindanao (901+)
- West Visayas State University (901+)
Meanwhile, Peking University from China retains its top spot from last year with a perfect score of 100. Trailing behind it are The University of Hong Kong, the National University of Singapore, and Nanyang Technological University, Singapore in the second, third, and fourth places respectively.
Other schools in the top 10 are Fudan University (China), The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Tsinghua University (China), Zhejiang University (China), Yonsei University (South Korea), and the City University of Hong Kong.
