Kim Jong-un slams K-pop as a “vicious cancer” and the South Korean language as “perverted”

North Korea's leader Kim Jong-un has reportedly called the K-pop industry a "vicious cancer" that corrupts the young North Korea.

According to a June 11 report by the The New York Times, Kim Jong-Un has proclaimed a new culture war to stop and prevent the strong influence of South Korea in their country.

Kim Jong-Un reportedly ordered his government to ensure that the "cultural invasion" and the so-called "anti-socialist" tendencies will come to an end.

Last December, Kim Jong-Un also introduced new laws that implemented stiffer penalties for owning or watching South Korean entertainment from five years of hard labor up to 15 years in labor camps.

North Korea’s state media said that if not prevented, the cultural influence from South Korea will cause North Korea to "crumble like a damp wall."

Kim Jong-Un has also called the South Korean language as "perverted" after North Korean women have started calling their dates "oppa," similar to the usual dialogue in K-Dramas, instead of the preferred "comrade" in North Korea.

According to reports, those who will be caught by authorities "imitating the puppet accent" from the South in daily conversations or text messages may be banished from cities as a form of punishment.
