LIST: Malls offering free overnight parking, temporary shelter to those affected by monsoon, Typhoon Carina

Typhoon Carina further intensifies as it heads towards Taiwan. While it is estimated to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Thursday, July 25, Carina is still significantly influencing the southwest monsoon or habagat, bringing heavy rains and potential flooding to parts of the country.

Meanwhile, parts of Luzon are already experiencing power outages, and flooding has submerged homes in low-lying areas.

If you ever need help, major shopping centers across the country are opening their doors to those affected by Typhoon Carina.

Many are offering temporary shelter, free WiFi, charging stations, and other essential services. If you need a safe place to stay or recharge, check out this list of malls that are ready to assist.

SM Malls

Various SM Mall branches are offering temporary shelter to those seeking refuge from heavy rains. They offer free overnight parking, free WiFi, a help desk, and charging stations for gadgets.

These malls include SM Megamall, SM City Fairview, SM City San Mateo, SM Mall of Asia, SM Caloocan, SM Baguio, SM Taytay, SM Marikina, SM Aura and SM North EDSA.

Vista Malls

Vista Malls is providing support to individuals stranded by Typhoons Carina and Butchoy. Select mall locations are offering temporary shelter, overnight parking, restrooms, charging stations,and free Wi-Fi.

WalterMart Mall

"WalterMart Malls will accommodate those who wish to seek temporary shelter from Typhoon Carina," the establishment announced on Facebook. It will provide free WiFi, a charging station, and free overnight parking.

Ayala Malls

Ayala Malls in Feliz, Marikina, and Fairview Terraces are also prioritizing customer safety, keeping their doors open "to wait out the storm inside the safety and comfort" of the mall.

Likewise, designated waiting areas and restrooms are accessible beyond mall operating hours, and overnight parking fees are waived.

Robinsons Malls

During the extreme weather, Robinsons Malls in Galleria South, Otis, Manila also offer temporary shelter and other free amenities such as overnight parking, WiFi, and charging stations. 

"Remember to please continue to keep safe and alert as you leave your homes," the mall said.

Megaworld Lifestyle Malls

Megaworld Lifestyle Malls—including Lucky Chinatown, Uptown Bonifacio, Eastwood City, and Venice Grand Canal—are offering free overnight parking for July 24, charging stations, as well as the use of their lounges and restrooms for those who are affected.
