The average-earning Filipino needs about 80 working days to purchase an iPhone 15 Pro (128 GB)—should it be their only expense—an e-commerce company report showed on Sept. 12.

Picodi, citing online living database Numbeo, said the average wage in the country is at P18,744.39 net monthly. If Filipinos will use all of their earnings for the iPhone 15 Pro worth P70,990, it would take them 79.5 days to do so.

It noted that it's the same price as last year's iPhone 14 Pro which, in turn, could be purchased in 90.9 days. The price doesn't include sales tax, which amounts to 12% in the country.

In its iPhone Index 2023 of 47 countries, the Philippines is the second to the last country that has the capability to purchase the upcoming phone.

Turkey was at the bottom with 123.7 working days.

Switzerland is the fastest to make money needed for the purchase, at 4.2 working days.

The iPhone 15 was unveiled during tech giant Apple's "Wonderlust" event last Sept. 13, Manila time.

Specifications include a contoured edge, aerospace-grade aluminum enclosure, textured matte finish, 48-megapixel camera, and the more universal USB-C charger. Pre-order will begin on Sept. 15 at 8:00 p.m., while availability starts on Sept. 22.
