‘Skate Date: Summer Nights’ brings roller skating, food, and music to Makati CBD
This June, a new kind of Saturday night is rolling its way to Makati as the estate launches “Skate Date,” a street gathering made for roller skaters of all ages and skill levels.
Organized in partnership with Eastside Roller Skaters of Everywhere We Skate, "Skate Date: Summer Nights" will feature food, music, and a vast, car-free street space for roller skaters to roll out in the great urban outdoors safely. It will be held on June 4, from 6 p.m. to 12 midnight, at Paseo de Roxas St. of the Makati Central Business District (CBD).
Veteran and newbie roller skaters alike can discover new gear to bring home—or try out that very night—through the various roller-skating merchants present at the event. Among the brands are Brighter Day and Skating Fairyrolls, Izkadoodle Skates, Jyu Skates, Lokal Skate Supply, ENZ Skates, Deity Skate Shop, Millennial Babe, Nell Skates, Wheel Wreckerz, Pagitan and SpeedShama.
Experienced roller skaters who want to have some good old-fashioned fun can register for the Community Jam Skating Session happening in the evening. Led by the sensational EastSiders, the program will feature infectious dance tunes that roller skaters can groove to and find a new gang to roll with.
Visitors can also wear trendy, eye-catching outfits to the party and take 'gram-worthy pics at Skate Date, where there will be an eight-foot-tall retro neon photo corner installation. Snap a picture and share your skate-filled summer evening on social media.
After the rolling revelry, check out the various local food stalls located around the street. Funky tunes will also be blasting throughout the night with music courtesy of DJ Tippy and DJ Aryan Magat.
The admission fee to Skate Date is P50 and shall be paid upon entry.
