Woman tries to open plane door mid-flight because ‘Jesus told her to do so’
A woman attempted to open a plane door in the middle of a flight, claiming she was asked by Jesus to do so. It prompted the plane to make an emergency landing to make sure everyone was safe.
According to Houston authorities, the incident began with the 34-year-old “staring” at the exit door as she asked if she could enjoy the view from the area where the flight attendants were.
When she was told no, the woman allegedly “forced her way around a flight attendant and began pulling on the exit door handle while the plane was 37,000 feet in the air,” according to a report by the NBC Dallas-Fort Worth. She even bit a passenger on the thigh when the latter tried to stop her.
A complaint filed by the NBI noted how she claimed that “Jesus told her to fly to Ohio, and Jesus told her to open the plane door.”
The incident caused the plane, which was traveling from Houston to Columbus, Ohio, to make an emergency landing in Little Rock, Arkansas.
The woman was taken into custody.
