Time for new opportunities: Fulbright is accepting scholarship applications for Filipinos until May 15
It's never too late to pursue your educational dreams. For those who are looking to finally take on grad school, Fulbright Philippines is now accepting applications for its foreign student program.
The educational foundation made the announcement on Facebook, offering the scholarship opportunity for Filipinos who want to take up a master's, doctoral, or pursue non-degree doctoral dissertation research in the United States.
This Fulbright Foreign Student Program will be for academic year 2024 to 2025 and will provide a grant for round-trip international travel, monthly maintenance allowance, tuition and fees, book/supplies allowance, and health and accident insurance for one year.
Fields of study offered under the program include Study of the United Sates (American culture, life, and society, humanities, law, economics, literature) and Global Issues (environment, human rights, governance, public administration, international economics, international business, international law, public health, and STEM fields).
To apply, one must be a Filipino citizen who is proficient in English and has a college degree with major in field of specialization, an excellent undergraduate record, and at least two years of professional experience after college in the field of their specialization.
Non-degree applicants must also show proof that the materials they need to pursue their research are not available in the Philippines but are in the United States. Check the full list of requirements here.
The application period for the 2024-2025 Fulbright Foreign Student Program for Filipinos was initially set to end on April 30, but Fulbright announced on May 2 that it is extending the deadline to May 15.
