Fourth straight day of over 20k: PH logs record-breaking 22,415 new COVID-19 cases
Another all-time high for new daily COVID-19 cases in the Philippines has been reached today, Sept. 6, the Department of Health (DOH) reports.
Today's single-day tally is at 22,415, breaching last Aug. 30's all-time high figure of 22,366. It also marks the fourth straight day with over 20,000 daily infections.
This brings the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country to 2,103,331 with 20,109 recoveries and 103 deaths today.
The DOH added that this tally doesn't include data from eight laboratories.
Recently, UP Octa Research group said that the country's current surge in cases has yet to hit its peak, with research fellow Dr. David Guido warning that it might happen "five weeks from now."
