Here's what the weather will be like in different parts of the Philippines on Christmas Eve
It looks like Christmas Eve will be slightly gloomy and rainy in several parts of the Philippines, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
In its public weather forecast issued earlier today, Dec. 24, PAGASA weather forecaster Daniel James Villamil said that because of the shear line, an area where cold and warm air meet, some parts of the Philippines will experience cloudy skies and rains including Bicol region, the entirety of Visayas, Palawan province, and Dinagat Islands.
The amihan or northeast monsoon will also bring rains over Cagayan Valley, the Cordillera Administrative Region, and Aurora and Quezon provinces. Localized thunderstorms may also happen in Mindanao in the afternoon or evening.
In its 5:00 a.m. advisory, however, PAGASA warned that heavy rainfall may descend over Eastern Samar, and residents in low-lying and mountainous are to be prepared for serious flooding and landslides.
Meanwhile, more clear and sunny weather will be experienced in Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.
Merry Christmas, everyone!
