Bongbong and Liza Marcos spend 31st wedding anniversary in La Union
President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos celebrated their 31st wedding anniversary in La Union.
On Facebook, Liza shared their selfie wearing gray shirts, with Bongbong wearing a cap as he places his arm around her.
“Spending quality time in celebration of our 31st wedding anniversary,” she said in the caption. “La Union, Philippines | 21 April 2024.”
Liza’s post got over 28,000 reactions, 5,700 comments, and 2,400 shares.
Hours ago, meanwhile, Bongbong shared a photo of him and Liza enjoying the products of the popular fast food chain Jollibee.
In a recent interview with journalist Anthony Taberna, Liza talked about her marriage with Bongbong.
She said she never imagined marrying a Marcos, especially since her family members have differing political beliefs.
Liza also dismissed rumors that Bongbong is an “under the saya” or a submissive husband.
"There’s so many changes in my life that I did for him,” she said. "You're talking about 'under the saya’... I gave up my law firm. You know how painful that was for me?”
The First Lasy also said in a vlog last February that her husband’s best qualities were “his kindness and selfless love and dedication to the Philippines and the Filipino people.”
Bongbong and Liza got married on April 17, 1993. They have three sons together: Sandro, Simon, and Vinny.
