Legarda formally opens 2023 National Arts and Crafts Fair with Gawad Sa Manlilikha ng Bayan awardees
The opening ceremonies of the 2023 National Arts and Crafts Fair were graced by the presence of four National Living Treasures, recipients of the Gawad ng Manlilikha ng Bayan, the highest honor to be accorded Filipino artists for their contributions to the country’s intangible cultural heritage.
Conceptualized by Senator Legarda as a flagship platform to preserve and support the indigenous creative industries, the 2023 NACF is ongoing until Sunday, Oct. 8, at the Megatrade Halls of SM Megamall in Mandaluyong.
Over 200 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) from the country’s 17 regions have been carefully curated to showcase traditional products such as Philippine fabrics, handwoven items, and handicrafts, as well as contemporary interpretations in the form of handmade ornaments, jewelry, woven apparel, and fashion accessories.
The 2023 NACF is organized by the DTI-Bureau of Domestic Trade Promotion, in collaboration with the DTI-Regional and Provincial Offices, and with support from the Design Center of the Philippines, and the National Commission for Culture and the Arts.
