UnionBank launches dollar-dispensing ATMs at select locations

Need US dollars for your next trip but want to save yourself the hassle of going to the bank?

UnionBank has rolled out automated teller machines that dispense U.S. dollars at select establishments in the metro.

According to a report by BusinessWorld, the bank installed its first dollar-dispensing machine in its headquarters in Pasig City on July 6. Two more machines were set up a few days later at its Greenhills and Cebu Wealth branches. 

These ATMs dispense dollars in $100 denominations with zero withdrawal fees.

As the first local bank to offer this service in the Philippines, UnionBank bared its plan to deploy these machines in branches that “are frequented by UnionBank US Dollar account holders with intensive US dollar transaction requirements.” 

The bank is also looking to upgrade other ATMs in “strategic” locations that will provide the same feature.
