Miss Grand India Organization cuts ties with Miss Grand International
The Miss Grand India Organization announced that it is cutting ties with Miss Grand International (MGI), saying that their decision came from recognizing that their "visions and goals" differ from MGI's.
"After careful consideration, we have decided to part ways with the Miss Grand International organization. Our decision comes from recognizing that our visions and goals differ at this moment. This step allows us to focus on exciting investments and projects that are already in motion and will soon be revealed to everyone," said Nikhil Anand, the president of Glamanand Entertainment Pvt. Ltd., in a statement.
It added, "Loyalty remains a cornerstone of our values, and it has greatly influenced this decision. We remain committed to prioritizing trust, alignment, and long-term relationships as we move forward."
While they parted ways with MGI, the organization takes "immense" pride in celebrating Rachel Gupta's win, who brought home the first-ever Golden Crown for India at Miss Grand International 2024
"Rachel, you will forever be our Queen, and your achievement marks a historic milestone for our country. We are proud to stand by you and will continue to support you throughout your reign."
The statement explained the organization's decision as "the beginning of a new chapter" and said that they look forward to sharing more updates with their fans soon.
"Thank you for your understanding and support," it continued.
As of writing, MGI has yet to comment on the matter.
Last October 25, Gupta clinched the Miss Grand International 2024 crown, defeating the Philippines' CJ Opiaza at the 12th edition of the pageant held at the MGI Hall in Bangkok, Thailand. She took over the reign of Luciana Fuster Guzmán of Peru.
This year’s Miss Grand International featured 69 candidates battling for the crown, with the theme “Spirit of Thailand.”
