ABS-CBN shows return to free TV with rebranded Zoe Channel
It’s (almost) back to regular programming for media giant ABS-CBN, as some of its programs is set to return to free TV.
ABS-CBN Corporate Communications confirmed this through a statement released today, October 6.
“Starting Saturday (October 10), some entertainment shows and movies of ABS-CBN will be seen on the newly rebranded A27 Channel 11 through an agreement between ABS-CBN and Zoe Broadcasting Network Inc.,” it said.
A27 Channel 11, formerly known as Zoe TV, will showcase ABS-CBN’s noontime shows It’s Showtime and ASAP Natin To. The channel will air across Metro Manila and nearby provinces on channel 11 on Sky Cable and channel 183 on Cignal TV.
Zoe Broadcasting Network is a Christian, family-oriented TV and broadcasting network owned by Jesus Is Lord Church founder Ellie Villenueva.
The Kapamilya Network on May 4 ceased its free TV operations after its legislative franchise expired on May 4.
Government lawyers have earlier filed a quo warranto petition against the company for “unlawfully exercising their legislative franchises."
ABS-CBN was consequently denied a new franchise by the House of Representatives on July 10. It continues to air it shows via cable TV on the Kapamilya Channel, as well as its social media channels.
