'Point-to-point' interzonal travel now allowed for below 18, over 65-years-old in GCQ and MGCQ areas
The Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) has released new protocols when it comes to COVID-19 traveling restrictions, easing some rules for young and old travellers.
Per IATF's Resolution No. 142 released on Oct. 8, persons below 18 years old and over 65-years old are now allowed for interzonal travel given that they will be coming to and from areas under General Community Quarantine (GCQ) and Modified GCG (MGCQ).
Areas under GCQ Alert Level 4 until Oct. 31 in Luzon include Metro Manila, Ilocos Norte, Dagupan City, Benguet, Ifugao, Tarlac, Marinduque, Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Puerto Princesa, Albay, and Camarines Norte.
Meanwhile, other areas in GCQ include Aklan, Antique, Guimaras, Negros Occidental, Cebu City, Cebu Province, Mandaue City, Siquijor, and Tacloban City.

The country will also start classifying foreign countries, territories, or jurisdictions under "yellow" and "green" lists that will require fully vaccinated persons to undergo RT-PCR testing before entering the country.
Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque shared that overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and their family members traveling with them can apply for a certification from the Philippine Overseas Labor Office in their country of origin. Filipinos or foreigners fully vaccinated already in the Philippines can present their VaxCertPH digital vaccination certificate or BOQ-issued International Certificate of Vaccination.
