Brazilian singer Ayres Sasaki dies due to fatal electrocution

Ayres Sasaki, a Brazilian musician died in a freak accident on Saturday, July 13. He was 35.

Local news outlets reported that Sasaki hugged a fan who was drenched, accidentally completing a circuit with a nearby cable during a concert in Salinópolis, Brazil. This resulted in a fatal electric shock.

It is still unclear how the fan became soaking wet.

Solar Hotel, the place where the incident happened, said in a statement that it is committed to fully cooperating with the probe.

“We are fully dedicated to providing support to his family and taking the necessary measures. We reaffirm our commitment to fully cooperating with the competent authorities for the proper clarification of the events,” the hotel wrote in a translated message on Instagram. 

Moreover, Sasaki's family will gather all the necessary information and release a statement to the press.

"What we know is that his show was scheduled for a specific time and was moved up, but we are contacting people who were with him at the moment to understand how everything happened. We will gather all the information and in a statement that we will release to the press," Sasaki's aunt, Rita Matos, told Istoé Gente.

Local authorities are still investigating the unusual circumstances leading up to Sasaki's untimely death.

Sasaki is known as the "King of Encores" because of his "persistent performances that would often last up to 12 hours straight." 

Aside from singing, he was also an architect and urban planner.
