PH logs 12,576 new COVID-19 cases this Holy Saturday
The Philippines logs a record of 12,575 COVID-19 cases today, April 3, 2021, pushing the country's total cases to 784,043.
Out of 33,800 people tested for the virus, 24.2% tested positive, bringing the total number of active cases to 165,715, the highest in Southeast Asia. 98.7% of them had mild symptoms and asymptomatic.
Meanwhile, 599 people have recovered and 103 have succumbed to the virus.
Yesterday, April 2, the country recorded its highest ever since the pandemic started last year with 15,310 cases.
Currently, the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) are meeting to determine if they will extend the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in NCR, Cavite, Laguna, Rizal and Bulacan or NCR Plus "bubble."
