Jodi Sta. Maria reveals annulment from Pampi Lacson after 13 years: 'I can finally say... case closed'
Actress Jodi Sta. Maria revealed that her marriage to Panfilo "Pampi" Lacson Jr. had finally been annulled after 13 years.
The 41-year-old Kapamilya star shared the news on her Instagram account, reflecting on her struggles and challenges while waiting for her marriage's nullity.
"Finally after 13 years of waiting, my petition for nullity of marriage has been granted by the Supreme Court," Jodi began.
"The time I spent in His waiting room was never easy nor was it comfortable. It was frustrating, discouraging, and even heartbreaking. I cried, prayed, questioned and complained. I made 'tampo,' asked for forgiveness, prayed some more. I wanted to give up but He never let go of me."
She continued, "Looking back it was His grace that sustained and carried me. He had a purpose for the waiting. And that was made clear to me by the Lord."
The Unbreak My Heart star went on to say that her journey was made possible through "God's grace," which "sustained and carried" her.
"God is never in a hurry. He is never too late. Never too early. Believe He is able to do something about your situation. Trust He has a plan for you and that plan is even better than the one you have for yourself."
Jodi also expressed gratitude to those who were with her, including her "prayer warriors," lawyers, and friends.
"Thank you for never giving up on my case."
"Now I can finally say…CASE CLOSED," Jodi concluded.
'A new leaf'
Jodi's nearest and dearest celebrity friends and co-stars showered her with support and appreciation after her announcement.
"A new leaf," said Chef Gene Gonzales.
"Let's celebrate. love you amor!" wrote Pampi's wife, Iwa Moto.
"Awwww…sigh. It's never an easy thing to go through a broken marriage and THEN to suffer through the long wait. I remember you and I having a short discussion about it during filming. Hugs to you Jodi! You've endured the pain, the judgments, the waiting on the Lord and now, you've emerged stronger in your faith. Proud of you sis!" Donita Rose chided.
"God's timing is truly perfect! Love you!" Iza Calzado added.
Jodi and Pampi married in 2005 and separated in 2011. The former is currently single, while the latter is in a relationship with actress Iwa Moto.
The then-couple share a child, Thirdy, who was born in 2005.
In 2023, Jodi had a double celebration as her family also marked her son's 18th birthday on Christmas Eve with Pampi and Iwa.
During that time, Jodi emphasized the beauty of seeing the silver lining in their family situation in an IG post, saying, "God has created something beautiful out of brokenness."
"We are blended, not broken. God has created something beautiful out of brokenness. The relationship we have with each other as a blended family was made possible by His love and mercy. It is only through His grace that our family was redeemed, repaired, and renewed," she wrote.
