Dominique Cojuangco earns 2nd fashion degree as magna cum laude
COVID-19 seemingly proved irrelevant to Dominique Cojuangco as she furthered her passion in fashion, by earning another degree in the field.
Dominique, actress Gretchen Barretto and businessman Antonio "Tonyboy" Cojuangco's daughter, graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Merchandising & Marketing from the prestigious Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) in San Francisco, California. She recently confirmed the news with a gleeful Instagram photo of her in a toga.
“#FIDMGraduation live done. Magna Cum Laude, but fell a bit short of the Cyril Magnin award," she captioned her graduation ceremony photo.

FIDM graduation ceremonies are annually held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles and at the Herbst Theatre in San Francisco. But as both cities' COVID-19 restrictions remain, a virtual commencement ceremony was held for its graduating class of 2020.
According to FIDM’s website, “Cyril Magnin Award is given to a Merchandising & Marketing graduate who shows outstanding promise in the field of merchandising and marketing, and best exemplifies the entrepreneurial spirit of one of FIDM’s founding advisory board members, Mr. Cyril Magnin.”
In January, Gretchen proudly shared on social media Dominique’s diploma with latin honors.
Prior to studying at FIDM in San Francisco, Dominique received a degree in Fashion Design from Istituto Marangoni in London in 2017. On the same year, she launched her first collection for Spring/Summer 2018 titled “La Doña" with her mother Gretchen as her muse.
Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising notable alumni include Project Runway Season 5 winner Leanne Marshall, Black Eyed Peas' will.i.am, Filipino fashion designer Sassa Jimenez (who graduated cum laude), and renowned fashion designer Monique Lhuillier.
