Make your study abroad dreams come true: European Higher Education Fair returns this September
When it comes to education opportunities, Europe is a goldmine for excellent universities that will give you everything you need and more in furthering your knowledge and your career.
If it's your goal to study in Europe, then you're in luck as the European Higher Education Fair (EHEF) is returning this year to give Filipino students and other interested individuals a chance to engage directly with some of the top higher education institutions from the European Union (EU).
The event will feature 85 higher education institutions from Belgium, The Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Ireland, Spain, France, Italy, Hungary, The Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Finland, and Sweden.
The discussions will focus on giving insightful information on higher education systems, "student life" in the EU, research grants, and scholarship opportunities that students and educators can apply for. Aside from this, there will also be language corners for those who are interested in learning a new language.
While studying abroad can be an amazing experience, it can also be challenging if you are not prepared. In a press conference, several Goodwill Ambassadors for the EHEF shared a few tips on how to pass your education journey based on their experiences studying abroad in the EU.
- Learn the language. This is essential when studying abroad. Many Filipinos are afraid to speak the language for fear of making mistakes and being mocked, but this fear should not stop you from embracing the opportunity to learn a new language.
- Step out of your comfort zone. Communication barriers can make it difficult to make new friends while studying abroad but don't just stick with other Filipinos. You're in a new country, so take advantage of the opportunity to meet people from all over the world.
- Seize every opportunity. Don't be afraid to take on leadership roles or seize opportunities while studying abroad. This will help you develop your skills and make a greater contribution to society when you return home.
EHEF 2023 will be a hybrid affair, having on-ground discussions from Sept. 30 to Oct. 1 at the Shangri-La Plaza and an online event on Oct. 2 through their website and Facebook page. You won't have to break open your wallet to attend as registration and entrance to the fair are free of charge.
