Couple who holds world record for 'biggest height difference' shows that love is accepting someone for who they are
How would you describe your ideal partner?
Others would say that it should be someone with a good personality. Some would describe their ideal type as a person with the same set of morals. For Chloe Lusted, her ideal type was a tall man—until she fell in love with her husband James.
Chloe and James Lusted, a couple who based in the United Kingdom, broke the Guinness World Record for the greatest height difference of a married couple between different sexes.
Chloe stands at 5-feet-2-inches, while James is at 3-feet-7-inches. The couple has a height difference of approximately 1-foot-10 inches between them.
A report from the Guinness World Records said that James suffers from Diastrophic Dysplasia, a type of disorder that affects a person’s bones and cartilage development.
Even though James initially thought he wouldn’t get married, he learned to accept his condition.
"I came to a point where I had to say to myself that dwarfism doesn’t own me, I own my dwarfism. I just wanted to be the same as everyone else and live my life in a big way, in a little body,” James said.
The couple was introduced to one another through mutual friends in 2012. Despite the initial doubts in their relationship, they became an official couple a year later and tied the knot in 2016.
“Our love story has taught us and others that you can’t judge a book by its cover, and just to love the person no matter who they are. I don’t think you can choose who you fall in love with,” Chloe said.
As of this writing, Chloe and James have been married for five years. They currently have one daughter named Olivia.
