Woman undergoes surgery to restore her virginity because she 'hated her first time'
A woman in Miami has coughed up thousands of dollars for surgery on her vagina to restore her virginity, with the desire to have sex again like it's her first time.
Speaking with The Daily Star carried by the New York Post, 22-year-old influencer Júlia Medeiros said that she has undergone a hymen reconstruction surgery that cost her $10,000 (over P540,000) because she didn't like how she lost her virginity in the past.
"I was a 17-year-old teenager when I lost my virginity to a 30-year-old guy. Just like many women, I was deceived. I was promised marriage and children like in fairytales. It's evident that once he got what he wanted, he didn't keep anything he promised," Medeiros told the news outlet.
According to cosmetic gynecology information site Cosmeticgyn, hymen reconstruction surgery is where the torn edges of the hymen are put back together. The procedure can last for 30-45 minutes.
Some women request a hymenoplasty procedure "as part of the rape, incest, sexual abuse healing process," where they believe that reconstructing the hymen will "symbolically restore something that was taken from them."
Medeiros shared that she is now saving her first time for somebody more special, stressing that she is "no longer easily deceived and manipulated by men."
"I always wanted to have that special moment for myself, I want it to be unique and romantic like in fairy tales—that's why I had the surgery," she said.
"Now I can lose my virginity with someone special. Unfortunately, like many women, I believe we have this moment stolen from us," she added.
