Loisa Andalio opens up about forgiving Ronnie Alonte for cheating: 'Walang perfect na tao'
Loisa Andalio has opened up on how she was able to forgive her longtime boyfriend, Ronnie Alonte, after he admitted cheating on her.
In the couple's interview with entertainment outlet Push, Loisa revealed that the fact that Ronnie was able to own up to his mistake made it less difficult for her to make allowances for him.
“’Yung point na inamin niya yung pagkakamali niya, ‘yun yung malaking bagay kasi marami akong kilala sa past relationships ko na huling huli mo na, hindi pa umaamin,” she said.
“So mas mahirap patawarin yung mga huling huli mo na, todo deny pa. Pero siya aminado siya, at hindi na niya uulitin, eh ‘di okay tayo,” she added.
Another reason why the 24-year-old actress chose to forgive Ronnie is that it's perfectly normal for humans to make mistakes.
“Para sa akin, choice talaga ‘yun eh. Kasi wala rin naman talagang perfect na tao. Kahit ako, hindi rin naman ako perfect,” she stressed.
“Sige, sabihin na nating magkakaroon din ako ng [bagong] relationship, for sure hindi rin naman magiging perfect ‘yun eh. Kaya nga sabi nila ‘di ba, ‘I’d rather have bad times with you, than good times with someone else,’” she added.
More than that, Loisa said that choosing forgiveness over hatred is beneficial not only for one's partner but more so, for one's self.
“Sa totoo lang, hindi lang talaga mahirap magpatawad. Talagang tao din kasi ‘yung mga nagpapakumplika ng mga ganiyan,” the Love in 40 Days star said.
“Kasi [‘yung forgiveness], para sa atin din naman ‘yun e. ‘Pag pinatawad natin yung tao, magkakaroon tayo ng peace sa sarili natin,” she stressed. “And in fairness naman sa kanya, deserving naman siya.”
Loisa and Ronnie, also known as the love team "LoiNie," first talked about their cheating issue in February. Ronnie admitted that he was the only one to blame for what happened at that time.
“Sa totoo lang, aaminin ko, mali ako. Kasi ‘yung mga nakatrabaho ko dati at ‘yung mga nakasama ko dati, hindi ko nilinaw sa kanila at hindi ko sinabi sa kanila na kami ni Loisa,” he said. “Tinago ko rin 'yun sa mga naging ka-partner ko.”
The reel-to-real couple confirmed their relationship in 2018. They are set to mark their seventh anniversary in November.
