Love wins: QC government to sponsor commitment ceremony of LGBTQ+ couples in February
Love wins, always.
The Quezon City government will again sponsor the commitment ceremony of LGBTQ+ couples in February—the month of love.
QC mayor Joy Belmonte announced the news in a Twitter post on Tuesday, Jan. 24. “Love has no limits. Love is universal. Love wins, always,” she wrote.
Love has no limits. Love is universal. Love wins, always. ❤️🌈
Noting that the city is a “gender-fair” one where the LGBTQ+ community is treated with respect and equality, Belmonte said that the event will be made possible by a special tie-up between the Office of the Mayor and the QC Gender and Development Council.
If you and your significant partner want to be a part of the commitment ceremony, you would need to submit a barangay certificate of residence, accomplished registration form, picture of applicants, and QC ID at the QC Gad Council or via email at [email protected].
You may get a copy of the registration form from the mini city hall or action office for each district.
The QC government also held a commitment ceremony for couples in the LGBTQ+ community in February 2022. A total of 222 queer pairs took part in the love-filled affair, where they declared their love and strengthened their commitment to each other.
