‘It’s not you, it’s me:’ Chrissy Teigen asked US President Joe Biden to unfollow her on Twitter
It has been over a month since model Chrissy Teigen got what she wished for—a follow from US President Joe Biden on Twitter. But recently, she asked the President to unfollow in order for her to go back to tweeting normally.
Before the inauguration of President Biden in January, Teigen tweeted in jest the new POTUS, asking him to follow her, telling him that former President Trump blocked her on Twitter.
Lo and behold, after the official @POTUS Twitter of Biden was set-up, Teigen’s was one of the 13 accounts that it followed, including Vice President Kamala Harris and husband Doug Emhoff, first lady Jill Biden, and Press Secretary Jen Psaki.
hello @joebiden I have been blocked by the president for four years can I get a follow plz

After receiving the follow, Teigen expressed her excitement on Twitter, saying “I can finally see the president’s tweets and they probably won’t be unhinged.” She added, “I should prob never tweet again.”
However, just after over a month of getting the coveted "follow," Teigen went again on Twitter, now with a different plea—for the President to unfollow her.
I have tweeted a handful of times since my treasured @POTUS following. In order for me to flourish as me, I must ask you to please lord unfollow me. I love you!!! It’s not you it’s me!!!!

“I have tweeted a handful of times since my treasured @POTUS following,” she said.
But in order for her to “flourish as me,” Teigen said, “I must ask you to please lord unfollow me. I love you!!! It’s not you it’s me!!!”
After just a couple of hours, the @POTUS Twitter account was seen only following 12 accounts, and Teigen’s was not one of those.
She immediately hurled a celebratory expletive-laden tweet right after the move.

Now, the mom of two and wife of Grammy-winning artist John Legend, is back to her “normal” tweets, starting with asking if any of her followers have tried a fast food chain’s fish sandwich.
Teigen, who is active on social media, is a known critic and regular "troll" of former President Trump. This led to Teigen getting blocked by Trump in 2017.
