Beauty queens who are going to be first-time moms this year
We watched them train, we listened to their advocacies, and we cheered them until the very end. Now, as they begin to take on a new role, we take a look at some of our country's beauty queens who are trading their sashes and tiaras for baby bottles.
Keep reading to see which Pinay beauty queens are soon going to be mommies:
Miss Universe Philippines 2017 Rachel Peters
Miss Universe Philippines 2017 Rachel Peters shared a heartwarming episode on her vlog last August wonderful news: she and her husband Camarines Sur Governor Migz Villafuerte are going to be parents.
"Only a month left of having you all to myself ✨ Grateful to the team behind this shoot for making the time to capture a truly incredible and transformational time in my life," she wrote on her Instagram.
Months ago, Peters shared an honest post about her pregnancy, admitting that she felt "like a completely different person" over the changes on her body. However, she also reminded other moms to ignore any external pressure of getting back to their old selves.
"I take in deep breathes and remind myself of the beautiful blessing growing inside me and am filled with gratitude and excitement for what’s to come ? (pregnancy is such a trip). Not sure if there are any mama’s to be out there that need to hear this- but you ?? are ?? beautiful," she wrote.
Miss World Philippines 2018 Katarina Rodriguez
Miss World Philippines 2018 Katarina Rodriguez and partner Niño Barbers are expecting a baby soon!
"My biggest dream come true," Rodriguez captioned her maternity shoot, wearing a fuchsia pink flowy dress by Francis Libiran.
The beauty queen shared the announcement via YouTube, where she shows her viewers take a home pregnancy test and tell Barbers the happy news despite her obvious baby bump.
Jokes aside, Rodriguez finally shared the big announcement to her viewers, a "secret that I have been keeping for the past seven months, eight months," she said.
“And that secret is...I'm pregnant,” the former model happily revealed.
She is currently living in Siargao with her partner since the beginning of the lockdown.
Alaiza Malinao
Alaiza Malinao happily announced that she is set to become a mother for the first time. Despite falling short of the Miss Universe Philippines crown last year, the Davao representative received a bigger blessing: a baby.
Sharing the news on Instagram, she wrote: "Andami ko pang pwedeng sabihin, pero hindi ko talaga alam kung san ako magsisimula at kung paano ko tatapusin. 2020 was C.R.A.Z.Y. I cried, I grieved, I celebrated and above all, sobrang laki ng pasasalamat ko sa suporta at pagmamahal na binigay nyo sa akin. Yun ang isa sa pinakamalaking surprise ng taong 2020 para sa akin."
She thanked her supporters who stood by her throughout her pageantry journey, and ended with a saying: “We have to loose something precious in order to gain something priceless.”
Congratulations, ladies!
