Andi Eigenmann reveals feeling ‘unmotivated’ after giving birth the third time

Andi Eigenmann couldn’t be any happier after giving birth to her first baby boy, Koa, but when it comes to getting back on track, the mom of three admitted she has been in low spirits.

The actress turned influencer is known for her healthy lifestyle that involves doing leisure activities in the beaches of Siargao, where she has been living with her fiance Philmar Alipayao and daughters Ellie and Lilo since 2018.

Her Instagram post on Feb. 18, however, revealed that amid the joys of growing a “happy island fam,” postpartum blues could get real.

Andi shared a photo of her postpartum body which, she said, hasn’t changed since she gave birth to Koa a month ago. Her caption read,“I’ve been enjoying every moment of my time with them because it recently sunk in to me how fast our children grow. While that is very true, I also may have been spending all my time with them to avoid facing the fact that I haven't been feeling like myself lately. I've been too unmotivated to keep up with my old (good) habits.”

Don’t get her wrong, though. The star said that her sentiments are not about the physical or “wanting to look the way I did pre-pregnancy (although there should be nothing wrong with wanting that for your own body too ‘cause it’s your body and you can do whatever makes you feel good about it).” But instead, it’s focused on not feeling “the way I used to.”

The thought has since been winding up the 30-year-old mom, who, amid “having three kids,” gives value to her own needs “because we’re allowed to take some time to focus on ourselves too.”

More than that, she knows “it could (or does) affect my kids” believing that “a great way to parent (in my opinion) is to strive to become a version of yourself that you love and makes you happy so that you can be a great example to your children too.”

Andi’s post was filled to overflowing with heart emojis from her followers. Some even expressed how grateful they were for the star’s inspiring and relatable confession.

One netizen remarked, “I see some post-pregnant celebrities eager to get back to their pre-pregnancy body. Totally agreeable, nothing wrong with a goal. However, as a new mom with another one on the way here in the United States, I did find their goals unrelatable, especially not having the same support to free out hands with a helper (yayas).” She added, “Yes, mom, we’ll get there and I’m happy to hear this! Thanks, mama.”

“I know how you feel. My baby also turned a month today,” one of her followers seconded. Another said, “Thanks for this post. I feel exactly the same way.”

“Same here, seven weeks postpartum of third child after two teenagers. No body shaming. I’m just proud of what happened,” one Instagram user wrote.

Andi and Philmar welcomed Koa on Jan. 17. He is Andi’s second child with Philmar following Lilo. Andi’s eldest daughter, Ellie, is her only child with her ex-boyfriend actor Jake Ejercito.
