Janella Salvador opens up about getting liposuction—her ‘best decision ever’
As Filipino society often tends to look down on liposuction, most individuals who have gone through the operation are forced to keep it hush-hush for fear that they become fodder for gossip or even scorn.
Some celebrities, however, have become more open about it. Janella Salvador, for one, has recently gotten real about having liposuction, which she called her “best decision ever.”
After confessing that self-care is “easier said than done,” she opened up about losing “all the remaining vanity” she had since she became a mom to her adorable son Jude. While she has enjoyed every second of motherhood, the actress admitted that she “did not feel like myself” in the first few months.
“I hid behind big coats, robes, and loose clothing. The lack of sleep made me overeat so I was 40 pounds heavier than my ideal weight,” she opened up in an Instagram post. “I did not like what I saw in the mirror but paid no attention to that. Of course, gaining weight is totally normal after giving birth.”
Salvador, however, said that she eventually sparked a desire to have good health and regain her strength. “My goal has always been to be strong enough to take care of the household so I did not want to resort to unhealthy crash diets,” she shared. “Working in a physical industry that relies so much on looks didn’t help with the pressure either. I know that eventually, I needed to start working again.”
When beauty doctor Vicki Belo, M.D. brought up the idea of her getting liposuction, the actress declined at first because she was scared of the risks. “But after many talks and getting assurance from her, I gave in. Best decision ever.”
“I can’t thank her enough and @dochayden enough for helping me jumpstart my journey back to sexy and for giving me back my confidence,” she wrote.
“I am finally starting to see the woman I want to see in the mirror once again,” she added, saying that she has also gotten back to exercise.
For her part, Dra. Vicki Belo called Salvador “an inspiration to so many people who admire your strength of character.”
Likewise, Dr. Hayden Kho wrote in the comments, “And look at you now! You really maintained what we’ve started. We’re so happy for you.”
Salvador’s friends in the showbiz industry like Loisa Andalio as well as Joj and Jai Agpangan were quick to give their all-out support for her decision.
