PH records 7,999 new COVID-19 cases—an all-time high yet again
The Philippines hit its highest recorded tally in a day with a record of 7,999 additional COVID-19 cases on Saturday, Mar. 20, 2021—an alarming record that came just a day after the country recorded 7,103 cases in a single day.
Based on the report of the Department of Health (DOH), the country’s overall tally is now 656,056. Meanwhile, 597 people recovered from the disease and 30 related deaths were recorded. Currently, there are 80,642 active cases.
Additionaly, the OCTA Research Group on Saturday said new daily cases of COVID-19 in the Philippines could reach up to 10,000 by the end of the month, if the current daily trend continues.
“We’re likely to see 5,000 cases in NCR (National Capital Region) alone by end of the month, and at least mga 10,000 cases sa buong Pilipinas by end of the month,” according to OCTA Research fellow Dr. Guido David.
