Bimby tells Kris Aquino why he approves of her fiancé Mel Sarmiento
Kris Aquino shared that sought approval from her youngest son Bimby before saying "yes" to former DILG Secretary Mel Sarmiento's marriage proposal. Bimby also explained why he gave his blessing of her engagement with Sarmiento, saying he's "very happy."
In an Instagram video, Kris spoke to Bimby alone and asked why "it was so easy" for him to give his approval.
Replying without hesitation, Bimby said that the former Interior Secretary had no hidden agenda whatsoever.
"It’s because he loves you. No agenda at all. And you can really tell he wants to take care of you, me, and Kuya," he told his mom. "And basically, I can tell, whenever he looks at you, his eyes twinkle," added Bimby as the mother and son errupted in laughter.
Bimby also said that the engagement means there will now be two "macho men" in their home.
He added: "Basta you can feel he genuinely loves you, Mama."
Kris said that his approval means a lot, and that she would "not have said yes" without it.
The actress shared the engagement news last Oct. 24, saying she is looking forward to bearing Mel's surname.
Kris and Mel met through her brother, late President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III, who appointed Mel as the DILG secretary during his term.
