How Rebel Wilson hit her weight goal in her 'year of health'

Rebel Wilson, who has always been beautiful, has turned from Fat Amy to Fit Amy.

The 40-year-old actress has been an inspiration to many for her healthy transformation. Just recently, she shared in an Instagram story that she has finally reached her weight goal on her “year of health,” as she put it.

“Hit my goal with one month to spare. Even though it’s not about a weight number, it’s about being healthy,” she stressed. “I needed a tangible measurement to have as a goal and that was 75 kg.” 

In an exclusive interview with People, the movie star shared that the stay-at-home order in place due to the coronavirus pandemic has helped her recharge her mind and body. This is because most of her stressors used to come from work.

“I definitely think with the slow down, it did help,” she said. “I think I was emotional eating, and overeating at times, because I wasn’t loving myself enough either. And it does come down to that self-worth and self-love.”

When she started changing her lifestyle, she said she “was probably eating 3,000 calories most days, and because they were normally carbs, I would still be hungry,” she recalled. Following a high-protein diet really made it work for her. “I eat fish, salmon, and chicken breast.”

Aside from healthy eating, she has been squeezing in physical activities into her days.

Has her fitness journey been smooth-sailing? Definitely not, confessed Wilson. “It doesn’t mean every week is a healthy week. Some weeks are just write offs, and there’s nothing you can do about that.”

After all, it’s about going for overall healthy balance. “I have this state of being, which is not my quote, but I go ‘Nothing is forbidden.’ We’ll be like, ‘Should we get In-N-Out burger?’ And I’m like, ‘Nothing is forbidden.’ I can go there, I just might eat half of what I used to eat before. You know? And I’ll have a burger, and a few fries, and then you feel fine.”
