Miss Universe Philippines reveal the winners of its five challenges as selected by the judges
The Miss Universe Philippines organization announced on Sunday, Aug. 29, the winners of its five virtual challenges—from the headshot to the interview challenge.
The winners, according to Miss Universe Philippines, were selected by the judges. The organization earlier announced the Top 15 delegates of each challenge, which were solely based on fan votes.
“We already know the verdict from the fan votes, and with the completion of our last virtual challenge, it’s time to let the Universe know of our panelists’ decisions from the previous challenges,” the organization said.
Asia’s Next Top Model Cycle 5 winner Maureen Wroblewitz (Pangasinan) topped the casting video challenge, where she showed off her natural beauty.
Cebu province delegate Steffi Rose Aberasturi stood out at the runway challenge, where she strutted on the Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX).
Victoria Velasquez Vincent of Cavite, who converted herself into a “90% vegan to protect the environment,” was the winner of the interview challenge.
The two other winners of the Miss Universe Philippines challenges were new names in the pageant scene.
Maria Corazon Abalos of Mandaluyong City and Beatrice Luigi Gomez of Cebu City, stood out at the headshot and introduction challenges respectively.
The Miss Universe Philippines 2021 pageant started out with 100 candidates coming from different parts of the country. From 100, the delegates were narrowed down to 75 then 50 based on fan votes and organization.
The final 30 candidates are set to compete at the pageant’s coronation night on Sept. 25. Organizers said that from there, it will be "back to zero with a different set of judges."
