Harry Styles' TikTok-famous JW Anderson cardigan is now an NFT
The JW Anderson cardigan that launched a TikTok trend—thanks to one Harry Styles—is now an NFT.
The color block cardigan was first donned by the pop icon during a rehearsal session in February 2020. Many TikTok fans have since tried to recreate the garb for themselves, with many showing off their creations through the hashtag #harrystylescardigan, which has over 87.5 million views.

The British brand even released a downloadable knitting pattern so fans could continue making the sweater. In addition, the cardigan was acquired by the V&A museum in London, putting it next to other significant clothing items in human history. Now, the iconic garment joins the NFT world.
Xydrobe, a new luxury fashion NFT platform, collaborated with JW Anderson to create a digital version of the cardigan, which took 300 hours to make. They developed each piece of yarn in 3D before weaving it following the original knit pattern.
It will be the first piece to be auctioned by the company on Dec. 12 starting at 1 Ethereum (around P230,000 as of writing). Proceeds from the sale will be donated to LGBTQ youth charity Akt.
Although the future owner of the unique cardigan won't be able to wear it in real life, they'll be able to rock it virtually in the metaverse.
The color block patchwork cardigan initially debuted as part of JW Anderson's SS20 menswear collection and is sold for $1,890 (P95,000).
The Styles-donned outfit isn't the only garment making its way into the metaverse—Tina Turner's Versace dress is going to be sold in NFT form in Miami.
