GALLERY: The breathtaking Santacruzan-inspired national costumes at the Miss World Philippines 2022
The Miss World Philippines preliminary activities are well underway, and the organization have just released the official photos of the candidates in their national costumes.
On Thursday, May 26 the 36 candidates paraded their costumes at the Venice Piazza Grand Canal Mall.
This year's national costume competition not only puts a spotlight to Filipino designers, but also commemorates Santacruzan, a religio-historical pageant that traditionally happens every month of May.
According to the organization, the national costume competition is a "time to celebrate the creativity and talent of our world class Filipino designers."
Reigning queen Tracy Maureen Perez is set to crown her successor on June 5 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. The winner represent the Philippines in the international competition this year.
