M.A.C. Cosmetics launches a new Cruella-inspired collection
M.A.C. Cosmetics sure knows how to get the attention of Disney and beauty geeks' attention. With the upcoming premiere of Disney Plus' live action film Cruella comes a new makeup collection inspired by the devilish beauty of one of the most iconic Disney villains, Cruella de Vil.
If you remember in 2013, M.A.C. has also curated a Cruella de Vil set under the Venomous Villains collection. Instead of the classic black packaging, the latest M.A.C. Cruella collection features nine products of "punk rock reds and haute metallic hues" in a covetable black and white design.
“It’s high glam with plenty of attitude, brought to a new generation,” explains Terry Barber, M.A.C. Director of Makeup Artistry. “With there being such a huge trend for recycling the more niche counterculture moments of previous decades, this collection feels like M.A.C. returning to a celebration of the kind of DIY styling and brave transformation that originally made it such a maverick brand,” he adds.
The collection includes an eight-pan eyeshadow palette Cruella To Be Kind that you can "break" into four sections, each with two shades.
It also includes a Dual-Ended Pro Longwear Eye Liner that has a black liner called De-Vinyl and a white liner named Tightly Laced on the opposite end.
Much like Cruella's hair, the Powder Blush Duo features two shades of cheek color in rosy and shimmery peach hues.
To complete the look are six new lippie shades in two finishes. The Matte Lipsticks are available in Camden Caper: Blood red; De Vil In The Details: Bright red; and Sweet-N-Vicious: Light pink.
While the Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolour are available in Glamarchy: Blood red; Mayhemmed: Red; and Queen of Mean: Brownie pink-neutral.
M.A.C.'s Disney Cruella Collection officially launches on May 13, 2021.
