Bela Padilla launches makeup line, BELA by Bela
From actor to producer and director, Bela Padilla can now also call herself an entrepreneur after launching her own makeup line, BELA by Bela.
At her brand launch on Sept. 9, Bela explained that her primary motivation for creating a makeup line was to share her personal favorites with others.
"Over the last few years, as you guys may or may not have noticed, parang I've been going on the more creative side also. I don't just act anymore or shoot films anymore. I now release things that I love and want to share with people. So this is my latest offering to you guys," she told the media.
BELA by Bela offers two items so far—a color-adapting cheek tint and lip balm.
When asked why she opted to launch these two products, the 33-year-old actress said that these are her go-to makeup products for all her activities and during tapings.
"I use it when I dive, when I work out, when I do all my activities. Basically, [I use it] when I tape, when I film my movies. I literally use it every day."
Where to buy?
The products are available online on TikTok Shop, Shopee, and Lazada.
The Color-Changing Lip Balm costs P349 and promises hydrating and long-wearing lip benefits.
The lip balm, which contains shea butter, Vitamin E, beeswax, jojoba oil, and sweet almond oil, adjusts its hue "based on your unique pH levels." In this case, it offers a personalized shade of pink that enhances your natural lip color.
Meanwhile, the Bela Dot Perfection Cheek Tint Cream, described as the user's "ultimate companion for a radiant, natural glow," costs P379.
The cheek tint cream contains shea butter, sodium hyaluronate, macadamia ternifolia seed oil, and Sakura leaf extract. It promises its users a natural radiance, smooth texture, long-lasting wear, hydration, and versatile application.
"Formulated for smooth texture and easy blendability, this cheek tint offers seamless coverage and a dewy, fresh look. It provides long-lasting wear, keeping your cheeks beautifully flushed throughout the day," the product description read.
In 2023, Bela opened up about the challenges of hormonal acne, admitting that despite her best efforts to maintain a healthy lifestyle, she still encounters flare-ups.
"Flare-up talaga and you don't know when it's gonna happen," she said in an interview, noting that she eats clean, doesn't smoke, rarely drinks, and makes it a point to squeeze a workout into her days.
The actress opened up about her health conditions that could be increasing her risk for developing acne, including polycystic ovary syndrome and hypothyroidism.
"I have PCOS, I have hypothyroidism. Since I was 19, I was diagnosed with PCOS," she said, confessing that her sudden acne breakouts can cause insecurities, especially in her line of work. "Even when you're growing up, you're in front of the camera. Yung trabaho mo, palaging nakaharap ang mukha mo. It's really hard," she explained, adding that she addresses it by sticking to a skincare routine that works for her.
Meanwhile, Bela joins the list of other celebrities who started their own makeup brands, including Anne Curtis, Andrea Brillantes, Vice Ganda, and Gabbi Garcia, among others.
