Look: Margie Moran's niece slays in MUP 2020 evening gown segment
Parañaque's Bella Ysmael must have used grace her ballerina days have instilled in her over time, as she donned the feathery serpentina at the Miss Universe Philippines (MUP) 2020 to win Best in Evening Gown Friday night.
The 23 year-old, who has been dancing ballet since four, won the special award in a masterpiece by Dubai-based international fashion designer Furne One Amato of Amato Couture.
Ysmael, also Miss Universe 1973 Margie Moran's niece and actress Marita Zobel's grand-daughter, is among the 46 beauties competing for the MUP "Filipina" crown on Sunday.
"Dance and art are my tools for self-expression and stress-relief," she told MUP in an earlier interview.
Ysmael graduated Psychology from De La Salle University - Manila. She has since practiced her degree by advocating for mental health education and awareness—" I believe this is a dire need for the betterment of today's society," she had said.
MUP's finale airs October 25 9am online via Empire.ph and on TV via GMA-7.
Miss Universe 2012 1st Runner Up Janine Tugonon and Miss Universe 2013 3rd Runner Up Ariella Arida are part of the judges who will identify the country's eventual representative to the Miss Universe stage.
Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, Congressman Eric Yap, and Baguio First Lady Mrs. Arlene Magalon, among others, are also part of the panel.
