Queen of ukay-ukay Shaira Luna got hitched to partner Coy Aranas last Friday, Aug. 12, and in true Shaira Luna fashion, she wore a 100-peso vintage wedding dress.

The renowned photographer chose to wear an ivory Victorian-inspired dress that was sourced by her good friend Jonard Palteng of The Jones Archive.

"The dress was actually a happy accident I saw near a public market in La Union. It never crossed my mind it could be a wedding dress; I just saw it to be very her," told Palteng to PhilSTAR L!fe.

Palteng added that he sometimes would buy thrifted clothes for Luna, but he wasn't particularly asked by the bride to source for the wedding.

"When I’m on a thrift run, I sometimes see pieces that suit her aesthetic very well, and I buy those pieces for her. She doesn’t necessarily reach out to me. It just so happens that I know her size and style very well! When I see something that’s very her, I get it for her," he said.

The stylist added that Luna's original plan was to wear a 70s-inspired dress, but after seeing the gift, she said it was "the one."

"We did discuss her wedding dress but it was only in passing, I wasn’t asked to source or anything. Her original plan was a bit more '70s. But after she got the dress I thrifted, she told me it was the one. And it truly was," he exclaimed.

Luna styled her gorgeous floor-length dress with a pair of white gloves and a beaded half cap from Glorious Dias. She also did her own makeup for the wedding.

The couple exchanged their "I Dos" in front of only their closest family and friends, including Dimples Romana, Mimiyuuuh, and singer Zild Benitez, who were all asked to wear vintage 'fits.

"The bride only had one request, that we wear vintage thrifted dresses," shared Romana on Instagram.

Congratulations!
