Gucci is exploring the outdoors with its collaboration with The North Face that birthed designer camping essentials including a tent and a sleeping bag that could cost more than the amount you will pay for your entire camping trip.

The North Face x Gucci tent, priced at $3,490 (about P170,000), is a nylon tent that features dual doors with mesh insert, nylon rainfly, large steel stakes, guy outs in stuff sack, and a bag with carry handles. It is about 10 feet wide and eight feet tall.

To complete the luxe feel of the camping with a designer tent in the wilderness, there is a matching sleeping bag that goes with it at the price of a whopping $1,190 (about P57,000).

The featherdown sleeping bag also bears the unified logo with features that include a vaulted footbox, fitted hood with cinch-cord, a draft collar, a stuff sack and has an “extended width in knees for maximum comfort and mobility.

Also included in the collection are a canvas bomber jacket worth $2,600 (P128,000) with feather goose down padding (currently out of stock), and $1,500 ankle boots (about P72,000) to complete one’s outdoor ensemble.

As a celebration of the collab, the unified logo prominently features each of the brand’s distinct logos—The North Face’s half dome and Gucci’s web motif.

The collaboration “connects two brands with similar history and values in celebration of the spirit of exploration,” Gucci said on its website. The collab also explores “the deeper parallels between two brands in equipping those who seek adventure, challenging status quo and quests for self-expression."

Other items in the cross-category collection include RTW, soft accessories, luggage, footwear and equipment.

In December 2020, the Italian fashion house released a teaser of its collaboration with the American outdoor recreation company and Pokemon’s augmented reality game Pokemon Go. The visual campaign featured a photo of the designer tent with a Pokemon flag in front of it.
