LOOK: Kourtney Kardashian’s Virgin Mary veil was inspired by Travis Barker’s head tattoo

As Kourtney Kardashian exchanged I do’s with Travis Barker in an extravagant Italian wedding, we can’t help but feast our eyes on her Virgin Mary veil. 

We found that the reality TV star tapped luxury house Dolce & Gabbana for her wedding looks. “Designing my dresses with Domenico (Dolce) and Stefano (Gabbana) has been a dream come true in every way,” she said in a Vogue interview. 

For the lavish ceremony on Sunday, May 22, she opted for a custom mini dress with hints of lace and satin for some oomph. Complementing her outfit were some statement-making white gloves and pointed lace pumps. 

Her striking veil features hand-embroidered flowers inspired by the Mediterranean gardens and a religious touch based on the groom’s head tattoo, along with the words “family loyalty respect.” 

Before their Italian wedding, the celebrity couple made their marriage official in an intimate ceremony in Santa Barbara, California. In some snaps she shared before their private affair, she can be seen wearing a black mini dress with a Virgin Mary emblem at the center. 

Travis has been vocal about his religious beliefs as a Catholic. In a 2015 interview with Vice, the Blink-182 drummer particularly talked about the detailed tattoo on his head. “Well, I got the Virgin Mary tattooed on my foreman when I was 18, 19, and I was brought up Catholic. I definitely pray; I believe in God,” he said. 

The pair got engaged in Oct. 2021 after less than a year as boyfriend and girlfriend. Kourtney has three children (Mason, Penelope, and Reign) from her previous relationship with Scott Disick, while Travis has two (Landon and Alabama) with his ex-wife Shanna Moakler.
