Pedal in style with a P1.2-million Louis Vuitton bike—or fly a P400k kite
Ready to pedal in style and out-luxe Jinkee Pacquiao’s luxury bikes?
Luxury French fashion house Louis Vuitton recently collaborated with French bike brand Maison Tamboite, known for producing handcrafted and tailor-made bikes, for its LV Bike that costs a whopping 22,000 euros each or approximately P1.2 million in current exchange rate.
Louis Vuitton is synonymous with travel for its classic trunks and luggage collections that capture the attention (and wallets) of chic jetsetters and LV collectors. But the release of the LV Bike line takes the brand’s definition of travel up a notch.
First, there are two available models with step-through frame and a two-speed drivetrain: Low frame, which has a basket in front; and diamond frame, which has a luggage rack at the back. The models are available in red, blue, black and yellow.
They are decked with either a Monogram with red LV Mahina leather, “Damier Graphite” with black, gray and yellow details; “Lime Yellow” colorway, or a “Since 1986” jacquard Monogram.
Distinct details beloved by LV aficionados are also present in the bike like Monogram Flowers-shaped chainrings and LV initials stamped on the pedals.
The bikes also feature a built-in GPS tracking device, LED lights; rims and fenders in stained wood, and seat coated in monogrammed perforated leather.
According to the brand’s website, one can have the bike personalized as it is possible to engrave one’s initials on the leather patch located on the bike’s rear wheel.
The luxury brand goes beyond bags, travel and accessories as it has previously released dumbbells costing almost 2,000 euros (almost P120,000), a yoga mat for 1,600 euros (P95,000), and a foosball table that costs 68,000 euros (P4 million).
Recently, Louis Vuitton also released a kite for 7,000 euros (P400,000). It is definitely not the usual kite made from paper or plastic that everyone is familiar with as this one from LV is made from technical nylon with the Monogram print emblazoned all over it.
The website describes the Comet Monogram kite as “an ideal gift for lovers of outdoor activities.”
According to financial site money.co.uk, Louis Vuitton is the most popular brand in the world in 2020 based on 12-month Google search data. The luxury brand appeared to be the most-lusted-after brand in 47 countries including most of Europe, Australia, parts of Africa, and a few countries in Asia, which, of course, include the Philippines.
The brand is also known as one of the most counterfeited brands in the world along with Chanel, Dior and Gucci.
