Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray proudly shares her new home: 'I finally called a home mine'
Fresh from her local and international travels, Catriona Gray recently shared on social media that she now has a home to call her own.
In her post is a photo of her with her Cavalier King Charles Spaniels—Theo and Bailey—in the middle of a bare room.
Catriona expressed her excitement on having her own place after years of renting and moving around, including the time she was billeted in a luxurious New York City apartment (which she shared with Miss USA 2018 Sarah Rose Summers) during her reign as Miss Universe 2018.
“Since leaving home at 17 I’ve always dreamed of having a place of my own. For the past 10 years, I’ve been a nomad, I’ve rented and moved from place to place. But earlier this year, I finally called a home MINE,” said Catriona, who used the hasthag #CasaDeGray in her post.
Catriona moved to the Philippines in 2011 from Cairns, Australia where she grew up to pursue a modeling career.
She said in previous interviews that her decision to move to the Philippines on her own money at such a young age was to challenge herself and get out of her comfort zone. “It was the first step into figuring out who am I,” she said in Tonight with Boy Abunda.
In the transformation of her home, Catriona will incorporate one of her advocacies, which is supporting local businesses and artisans.
“I’m super excited to be sharing how this space transforms over the next few months and to also be #SupportingLocal in and throughout my home—from local furniture to local artists and artisans,” she said.
Friends and fans from around the world congratulated Catriona on her new home, while others asked her for a house tour. There were also some who dropped their design suggestions for Catriona—from minimalist, pet-friendly place, to tropical.
Following her local and international trips with her beau, Sam Milby, Catriona recently released the music video of her new single Love Language.
