Ai-Ai delas Alas has confirmed her split with her husband Gerald Sibayan.

The actress opened up about the breakup, which happened in October, in an interview on Fast Talk With Boy Abunda.

Bakit ngayong oras na ‘to? Sana hintayin mo man lang ako makauwi sa Amerika,” she said, adding that they really didn't fight a lot as a couple.

Ai-Ai then talked about how she prepared herself for their split when they got married.

"Alam kong bata pa si Gerald and pwedeng magbago ang isip. Pero alam mo 'yun, sana huwag. Sana totoong may forever.

Since October, the two haven't spoken again, according to Ai-Ai, as she felt like it was a definite decision.

The actress then told Boy about how they previously talked about having kids before. She shared that they tried conceiving via in vitro fertilization but failed.

"Alam naman niya na bago pa niya ako pakasalan na hindi na ako magkakaanak, but I really tried my best kasi meron kami in vitro [fertilization], kahit mahina 'yung eggs ko," Ai-Ai said as she started to get emotional.

Asked about if there was a third party involved, Ai-Ai said, "Bilang asawa...

'Pag lumaban ako, nags-tay ako, parang alam ko naman 'yung magiging ending," the Ang Tanging Ina star said, sharing that Gerald had cheated on her before in 2019.

The actress shared a parting message to Gerald, saying she hopes he finds the happiness he's looking for.

I wish you well kasi sa sampung taong pinagsamahan natin, in fairness naman to you, naging good husband ka naman. Siguro ganun talaga buhay. Basta sana maging masaya ka na lang."

Ai-Ai and Gerald, who have a 30-year age gap, got married in 2017 after three years of dating. They renewed their wedding vows in the United States in December 2022.
