K-Pop idols SEVENTEEN's Hoshi, NCT's Doyoung and Kang Daniel are set to enter the military, according to reports.

Hoshi, Doyoung, and Kang were all born in 1996, making them eligible for the mandatory service.

In case you didn't know, South Korean able-bodied males between the ages of 18 to 28 have been required to enlist in the military for almost two years since 1957. By law, males will undergo medical exemptions and other qualifications prior to enlistment to determine their units.

South Korea's military service has a few exemptions, including athletes who won international competitions and severe health issues, among others.

Further details, such as the exact date of their military service, have yet to be announced.

Kwon Soon-young, also known as Hoshi, debuted as a member of the South Korean boy group SEVENTEEN in 2015. He's part of the subgroup BSS or BooSeokSoon alongside members Seungkwan and DK.

In 2021, he released his first solo mixtape, Spider

Meanwhile, Doyoung is part of the South Korean boy band NCT through the sub-units NCT 127 and NCT DoJaeJung.

In April 2024, he began his solo debut with the release of his first studio album, Youth

Kang Daniel, on the other hand, gained prominence in 2017 when he won the second season of the reality competition series Produce 101. He took a six-month hiatus following the end of his group Wanna One's activities. In 2019, he released his solo debut extended play (EP), Color on Me.

Apart from his music career, he appeared in various Korean TV shows, including Mnet's Street Woman Fighter (2021), the spin-off show Street Dance Girls Fighter (2021–2022), and the one-episode television special titled Be the SMF (2022). He also made his acting debut in the first-ever Korean Disney+ Star original series, Rookie Cops, in 2022.

Kang is also one of the artists who will perform in the highly anticipated Manila leg of Waterbomb Festival on February 23.
