'The Devil Wears Prada' cast to reunite at 2024 SAG Awards
Gird your loins, The Devil Wears Prada fans, as the iconic trio of the beloved chick flick is set to have a mini-reunion at the Screen Actors Guild Awards this weekend.
Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, and Emily Blunt will grace the stage as presenters of the 30th SAG Awards taking place on Feb. 25 (Philippine time) at the Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall in Los Angeles, California.
The trio's return comes 18 years since the David Frankel-directed film premiered in 2006. Based on Lauren Wiesberger's novel of the same name, The Devil Wears Prada follows aspiring journalist Andy Sachs (Hathaway) as she starts working as the assistant of Miranda Priestly (Streep), the powerful and ruthless Editor-in-Chief of a fictional fashion magazine called Runway.
Apart from Priestly, Sach's lack of fashion sense horrifies the rest of Priestly's staff, including her senior assistant Emily Charlton (Blunt).
According to Entertainment Weekly, Wiesberger wrote her novel inspired by her personal experience as a staff of Vogue's editor-in-chief Anna Wintour.
The film, meanwhile, endowed Streep with a SAG Award nomination for Best Female Actor in a Leading Role, as well as as an Oscar nomination for Best Actress. It was also nominated for an Oscar for Best Costume Design.
The Devil Wears Prada amassed $327 million at the worldwide box office and instantly became a cult favorite of generations of fashionistas.
The 2024 SAG Awards will stream live on Netflix on Feb. 24, 8 p.m. ET (Feb. 25, 9 a.m. Manila time).
