Armie Hammer is selling his truck because he can't afford gas anymore

Armie Hammer is saying goodbye to his beloved truck as he can no longer afford gas.

The embattled American actor explained his decision to sell the vehicle in a video posted on his Instagram account, where he showed his prized 2017 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali Pickup.

"I bought this for myself in 2017 as a Christmas gift for myself. I have loved this truck intensely and taken it camping and across the country multiple times and on long road trips, and I took it for one last road trip to CarMax," he said.

Adding that the video was not an ad for the used car retailer, the actor revealed, "This is because I’m selling my truck. Since being back in L.A., I have put about 4 or 500 dollars worth of gas in it, and I can’t afford it. I can’t afford the gas anymore."

Despite making "amazing trips" with the car, Armie said that he has come to terms with the decision to sell it.

"That’s okay. I got a new car. It’s tiny. It’s a hybrid. I’m probably gonna put about 10 bucks of gas in it a month, and this is it," he said.

"Here’s to new beginnings. It’s my birthday tomorrow. So August 28, I will be starting my birthday in a new car, in a new apartment, in a new life in Los Angeles," he added.

He ended the video by expressing his gratitude to his truck, "Thank you very much. You have gotten me a long way and I appreciate it all. I hope you take as good of care of the next person."

Armie rose to fame for his role in the 2010 biographical drama film The Social Network before starring in The Lone Ranger and Call Me by Your Name.

However, his career went downhill in 2021 when multiple women claimed that they experienced sexual and physical abuse from him, with one of them alleging he was "100% a cannibal" and wished to "drink [her] blood."

After the allegations started, he abandoned several future projects and was dropped by his talent agency and publicist, but Armie has continuously denied the claims.

"People called me a cannibal, and everyone believed them. They're like, 'Yep, that guy ate people,'" he said in an interview on the Painful Lessons podcast. "Like what? What are you talking about? Do you know what you have to do to be a cannibal? You have to eat people! How am I going to be a cannibal?! It was bizarre."

Despite an investigation, Armie did not face sexual assault charges due to "insufficient evidence."
