Kris Aquino gives health update, thanks those who continue to pray for her on Christmas Eve

The holiday season is a time to take a step back, reflect on life, and count one’s blessings—and that’s exactly what Kris Aquino did on Christmas Eve. 

The “Queen of All Media” gave a health update on Instagram on Saturday, Dec. 24 as she expressed her gratitude to everyone who continues to pray for her and her loved ones even now that she’s out of the country to get treatment for her multiple autoimmune diseases. 

“Discussing my four diagnosed autoimmune ailments (two are life-threatening) and a highly likely fifth because of my distinct physical manifestations isn’t something I want to do on Christmas Eve, but I have to because gusto kong magthank you sa inyong lahat who still keep me, my sons, and my sisters and their families back home in your prayers,” she wrote in the caption of her post. 

Kris pointed out how heartwarming it is to come across people who pray for her healing as she’s aware that they all have their “personal problems and heartaches.” They, she said, are the reason why she had a happy Christmas with her family, including her two children Josh and Bimb. 

“We may be an ocean apart, but it matters so much to know that many of you who don’t even know me or my sons personally, care enough to remember us and want me to win this seemingly endless battle with my autoimmune conditions. May God bless your kind and compassionate hearts,” she said. 

The multimedia personality also shared her Christmas wish this year. “My Christmas wish is makabawi ako sa ginagawa niyong mabuti para sa akin ngayon. My first cycle of immunotherapy treatment (same medicine as chemo but at a much lower dose given over a longer period of time) will take about 10 months,” shared Kris. 

“For now, idadaan ko nalang po ang pasasalamat ko sa mga pinagkakatiwalaan kong mga kaibigan sa religious and medical communities,” she continued.

In a previous update in late November, Kris shared that she’s signed up in a hospital’s center for people who have rare and undiagnosed illnesses as she continues to undergo important tests and procedures for her health. 

She will also be admitted in early 2023 for further testing as the coordinator described her as a “challenge” since she’s allergic to various types of medicine, including steroids. “Pang-case study daw ako—one person with multiple autoimmune conditions and over 100 known allergic or adverse reactions to medication,” she explained.
