Kris Aquino diagnosed with more autoimmune diseases, continues search for 'right treatment' in the US
Kris Aquino has been diagnosed with more autoimmune diseases since she left for treatment in the United States, sister Ballsy Aquino-Cruz said.
In a Zoom interview with non-government organization Banyuhay Aotearoa, Ballsy gave an update about Kris' current condition. She said that they're still trying to find the correct treatment, given the TV personality's allergies.
"All the medicines they're trying haven't been working, or maybe they did but then the side effects, they were not too happy about," Ballsy said. "She has so many allergies from food to plants and medicines."
Ballsy added that Kris has met with a new doctor to help with her condition, which she said got more complicated.
To continue with treatments, Ballsy said Kris had to put on more weight. "She's not even 90 pounds now, she's like 85 or 86."
"When she left, she had two autoimmune diseases, I think now there are four," the sister said. "With all the tests they do in the US, tests that we don't have here, maraming naglalabasan pa rin eh."
From Kris' last health update on June 30, she said she had three autoimmune diseases: autoimmune thyroiditis, chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU), and Churg Strauss syndrome (EGPA).
Despite her condition, Kris remains in good spirits because of her sons Josh and Bimby, according to her sister.
"She said there was a time she was really feeling that she was about to give up because she was having such a difficult time. But when she looks at the pictures of her sons or when she sees them, then she knows she still has to fight," Ballsy shared.
