Yasmien Kurdi laments takedown of baby's gender reveal video: 'Ang i-report niyo ay malalaswang content'
Yasmien Kurdi could not help but air her confusion and disappointment after the video of her baby's gender reveal was taken down from her social media pages, having been reported as "bullying and harassment."
In case you missed it, the Kapuso actress announced that she and her husband Rey Soldevilla are expecting another baby girl through a video where she could be seen lighting the icing from a cake that she baked.
Despite the cake melting into a drawing of a boy and a girl, the cake did not reveal the baby’s gender. The true answer came when the family sliced into the cake and revealed its pink contents, signaling that the new addition to their home would be a girl.
The happy moment was short-lived, however, as the video eventually got taken down the following day, much to the shock of Yasmien.
"Just last night, we posted a video of our mini gender reveal and to our surprise, this was taken down today both on Facebook and Instagram due to bullying and harassment. We get reported a lot for wholesome [content]," the actress wrote on Instagram.
"Hindi ko maintindihan kung bakit offensive ang mga ganitong mga bagay ngayon, at ang kalaswaan tulad ng paghuhubad at pagmumura etc. ay tanggap na tanggap," she added.
In a screenshot that she took, Yasmien revealed that her Facebook account had been flagged due to the gender reveal clip, with Meta saying that she had violated their community standards by sharing a post "that went against our rules on harassment and bullying."
"Ang i-report niyo po ay ang mga malalaswang [content], huwag po yung wholesome [content]. Isipin po natin ang mga anak at magiging anak natin. Anong klaseng mundo ba natin sila gusto palakihin?" she urged.
In the comments section, many of her fans echoed her disappointment and criticized Meta for erroneous restrictions.
"Wala sa ayos si Meta po! Ganyan din ako isang beses! Violence etc. Wala namang violence 'yung inupload ko! Umapila po ako, kaya winala ni Meta ang restriction ng Facebook ko!" one user commented.
Another one wrote, "May nireport nga akong page for nudity and harassment eh, tapos nagbotify sa'kin na hindi daw against sa standard ng Facebook yun? Luh? So ano palang standard ngayon? Ang saya nung panonood ko nung gender reveal kaya nagulat ako na nawala."
Upon checking Yasmien's social media pages, it appears that Meta has now lifted the restriction to the gender reveal video on the actress' Facebook page, but it is still nowhere to be seen on her Instagram account.
Yasmien tied the knot with her husband in 2012 and welcomed Ayesha in that same year. The family announced in November 2023 that they were expecting another baby.
